Fagin is on a distinguished road

I have started learning HTML so i can write my own web page, which seems pretty easy (even for me) i got a bit bored and took a sneaky look at the the end of the book and there i read that HTML is becoming out dated by XTML and it mentioned some thing about CSS. Cascade Style Sheets. Looking to the future, Can any ony tell me what is the best thing to learn.

Also can any one tell me how to lock images, so no one can copy them.

Thanks in advance.

There is no way to "lock" images, there are prevention tools, but those can be passed very easily.

Also, HTML, CSS, JavaScript are all good languages, but for basic webpage design CSS/HTML is best.

XHTML is out rated, or so i think

Third, plus may of the newer things are off shoots of HTML or use HTML to compliment them.

There's no way to lock an image so they can't copy it...at the very least, a person could just do a print screen and grab the image.

Check out XML\XSLT, ASP, XHTML...

Thanks a lot guys, i am very grateful.

Can i now ask, is CSS part of HTM or can each one be used on its own

Also i have another problem, I have saved my web page to my hard drive, and saved it as text document, with a .HTML extension but IE will not open my web page as a web page, only as i wrote in word, and also as i wrote it in Homesite 5.

Could you tell me what i am doing wrong.

Thanks again

Simplest web page
Open ANY TEXT editor:

Quote:
<html>
<head>
</head>
<body>

This is my first web page.

</body>
</html>
Save the page as TEST.html to your desktop

Double click it and it should open up a web browser and display your page:

Actually, after learning basic HTML (which you need to understand the rest anyway), I would learn PHP (free Linux Open Source) or ASP (Microsoft based) ......... these allow you to create very interactive websites.

I decided to go the go the L.A.M.P. way with my webdesign company...

L=Linux
A=Apache
M=MySql
P=Php
