CD-Rom Drive Problems

Hey I am having problems with my Cd-rom drives. I deleted a burning program off my computer then they showed that they were not working properly (They show up in bios but not in windows) so I found out what to do from microsoft and edited registery. They showed they were working so I put a cd into cd-rw and then the drives dissapeared again and when I went to device manager it showed that they r disabled and It won't enable them. What do I need to do...I'm ready to just reinstall windows and start fresh.

Boot to safe mode and go to device mgr. find a nd delete all ref. to your cdr/rw drives , reboot and let windoz reinstall the drivers. :=)
