W2K Server RAS service?

Ok, so I figured out that the modem mentioned in another thread is actually working fine, and that it's when I try to start the RAS service in Windows 2000 Server that the problems start. The RAS service makes the communication with the modem break down somehow. Can anybody please advice me on how to get it working?

Where is the the other thread? I'm familiar with RAS but I don't know what your original problem was.
