2500+ and a 533Mhz FSB

I'm running an Asus A7N8X Deluxe, with a 2500+ running at 2.00Ghz up from 1.83, and an overclocked FSB from 333 to 400. Do you think it's possible to reach a 533Mhz FSB? I wouldn't mind replacing the stock heatsink with a more powerful fan-cooled thing for my chipset, but before I try this I want to see if I can do it, or if it is even possible.

I dont think its possible, and if it is then I suggest having a killer cooling setup such as having as many system fans as possible and water cooling.

And even then the big question is if your mobo will handle it.

Not gonna happen... You would need to up the FSB to 267MHz and I don't think even the nForce2 Ultra 400 chipsets can do that.

Is the a7n9x deluxe a good or best board to use with the 2500+? I was planning on buying those 2 together in a few weeks.

*cough* Not 533 but certainly getting there.

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...threadid=18051

There are some reviews of DDR500 that got up to 525. I think this was the TwinX, but I don't remember which brand exactly or which site did the reviews. DDR533 should be out pretty soon anyway, even though the timings suck.

I honestly don't think the NF7-S will have issues running that high. It's all about the RAM quality.

in a review of the a7n8x r2.0, the reviewer showed that the fsb adjuster went up to 600 i think. i just wonder if it could handle that really

I just looked at my BIOS, and 400Mhz is the only thing I can do. Which is what I'm running at now. I also edged my 2500+ to 3000+ speeds up from 2800+, no stability issues as far as I can see.
