My first attempt at photoshopping

This is the image i made.

I blurred out the original tattoo (the rose) and i moved the face(from another pic) onto her shoulder. I blurred the face and then used the sharpen filter to make it look more like a drawing. I made the picture greyscale to eliminate color. Any critiques? suggestions?

Not bad for first attempt.

Suggestions...Work with the existing shadows and pay attention to where shadows are so you dont put them in the wrong places

The head is to big and is to low and to far right on her shoulder (to close to the arm pit and thus it doesnt have the correct "rippling" of the skin in the face)

Get those two fixed and I'm sure others will suggest more too

Ok, I moved it, but how do I make the head smaller?

Nice job, I’ve done the tattooing before. What I found worked good was
messing with the transparency of the tattoo. It allows the body definition
to come threw. Giving it a more realistic effect & less of a slapped on look.

Keep playing with PS, you'll get the hang of it.

I'd suggest you use Free Transform on the tatto layer...hold down CTRL as you manipulate the 4 corners of the Transform box. Place the corners as if they were thumbtacks and you're tacking it to her shoulder. That should give the correct perspective which will make the tatttoo look like it's more on her skin.

After that, you might lower the transparency just a little and then start experimenting with the various Blend Modes. Most likely one of the Blend Modes will help it really look like an image on her skin and not just a cut 'n paste into the picture.

Keep showing us how it progresses. You also might want take this to our Graphics Design forum.
