Antec Case - Need Suggestions!

Im ordering the Antec 1080AMG SOHO file server case and i need reccomendations for case fans. I know Panaflow, Sunon, and Vantec are all good brands but what would you use for top cooling in this case if you planned to overclock and where would you place the fans???

those cases have places to put those fans the spots that antec have picked out are pretty good unless you want to mod it the only other place i could think of is a top blowhole.

I dont plan to mod the case as far as moving the location of the fans, just need suggestions on what you guys think are the best brand/speed/type case fans to use in the front, back, and side of this antec case. I'm looking at probably upgradeing to a 2.8-3.06 ghz P4.

For 80mm case fans I like the Sunon 39cfm/32dBa. Cheap fan, and very quiet for the cfm. The Panaflo high is also 39/32, but costs more and also has bare connectors in stock form so add ATX/molex connectors to the price and hassle. Also IMO the Sunon is lower frequency so sounds "quieter" to the human ear, even though they're rated the same dBa.

39/32 is sort of the sweet spot for good airflow. If you want higher cfm the dBa increases a lot after this point; conversely if you want lower dBa the cfm drops a lot. But again it depends if you need the cfm or not, you might be better off with lower airflow fans if you don't want as much noise. Of course you could also get a rheo.

Yeah, but what about 4x32 decibel fans?

What would the decibels be then? 40?

Well, there are too many factors to really combine the fans into a single dBa rating. Depending on where your fans are in the case as well as where your case is, the decibel rating will vary tremendously. The dBa rating of a single fan is for the bare fan in open air measured at a given distance from the fan.
