Send to ....

I am running a box with windows XP professional.

I have both Outlook express and MS Outlook 2002 installed
With OE I only have read access on my ISP mail server.
Outlook 2002 is running on a corporate Exchange server.

MS Outlook is set as the default mail handler
MS Outlook is set as the program to handle e-mail in IE.
Outlook express is NOT the default e-mail handler (OE options menue)

Now the following thing happens:

- I try to send a document out of any MS Office Application:
=> MS Outlook message window pops up

- Try to send a link out of IE or try to send a file via the context menue:
=> Outlook Express message window pops up.

I am going nuts. I tried to switch everything back and forth. No change.

Help greatly appreciated.

I'd guess it a "file association" issue. I believe:

URL:Mail to protocol

Is the guilty culprit. Edited it and see if it says OE...

Thanks.

Ooops. Sorry. First BE CAREFUL and note that it might be a different file type than the one I've pointed out.

Open My Computer
Click on Tools->Folder Options->File Type Tab

Go down the list till you see: URL:Mail to protocol
Click the Advanced Button->Edit

Application Used: "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /mailurl:%1 (this is what mine says for OE)

If yours says the same thing you can click the Browse button and seek out Outlook.exe ..

Thanks for your help. I checked the file association, but it already is directing to MS Outlook. Not much to change here.

I am really confused.
