My cable modem is working correctly and all lights are currently lit up ... and right now i'm directly connected to the internet, but I have many PC's at home that need to be online, and my router recently has been not working...
I have a LinkSys Etherfast Wireless AP + Cable/DSL Router with 4-port Switch... and it was working earlier but all of a sudden the red light under "Diag" seems to be permanently red. I read the manuals of my router and it said to upgrade my firmware, and I downloaded the firmware and it won't upgrade...
I'm pretty stupid when it comes to this stuff, am I doing the right thing by trying to upgrade the firmware? Any ideas on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated!
Have you tried a hard reset? There should be a small hole with a button inside on the back that you depress and hold for a few seconds. It will reset the router and then it should come back up. Be advised that this will reset the router back to factory presets.

If it won't reset, there's definitely a problem. Maybe a power surge or just a bad resistor that finally blew. Who knows. Could be anything. Linksys support is pretty good once you get through to them. Give 'em a call.
