Post your mobo type to get more specific help. If you are unfamilar with manual settings in the bios, try this:
At the first screen, press F1 or delete, (whatever it says) to enter setup. Toggle to the line that says "advanced Bios features". and look at the bottom of that screen.
You should have a choice of "load optimized defaults, or Load performance defaults" by hitting F7 or so. Save and exit.
Could be your ram is 100 mhz, but it is doubtful. The correct ram for 166 FSB is PC 2700 DDR, or DDR 333 (166x2)
The optimized or perforamnce defaults should set your system to the highest safe or "default" speed of the components.
