xp wont read my processor at 1.8

My amd xp 1.8 is is being read by xp at 1.1
I know it is actually a 1.5, but at any rate xp wont read it correctly any help in this would be appreciated.

sounds like your fsb is set to 100mhz instead of 133

what mobo do you have ? some have a switch 100/133 mhz

or the fsb has to be set correctly in the BIOS

I checked my mb it is set a 133 but still wont read correctly. It read correclty after changing fsb in ME, but it doesn't seem to work for XP.

check for software updates for WinXP

Not to be a jerk but are you sure it's a XP1800 (1.53 Ghz) chip?
Did you look at the #'s on the CPU to verify?
Also as others have said posting the problem without hardware specs makes it difficult to help with the diagnostics.

it is an xp 1.8 actual 1.53ghz i am looking for the mb specs but cant find the box it came in. The only specs i can find on the baord itself is the brand, SPACWALKER

What speed is your RAM? That may be causing you the problems in XP. Also, have you activated? I have an XP install on a box here, and it reads the changes I set at bootup, say I set a 100mhz FSB, it would show 1.1 athlon-4 if I set 133, it would be XP1700 and if I set 150fsb it shows XP2000.
