What is going on?

just got a new cooler master CPU cooler to replace my ANTEC jet cooler i put the thing on and i get one LONG beep then no boot and then like a machine gun beep. then i keep having to clear the CMOS to get it to even try to startup and it still keeps shutting down so i take the cooler master off put the old cooler back on. and voila boots right up no problem. what is going on?

MoBO: shuttle AK31
CPU: amd Tbird 1.3

Hmmm, sounds like a fairly bad heat problom, whats the spec on the cooler master.

Longshot but does the AK31 have a low fan speed check setting in the Bios? I dont know what the fan speed of the cooler master is but if its to slow it won't let it boot .
I had a problem like this one before

it couldnt been heat it was running colder than it is right now. and the fan spins faster than the one i have on it.
