ECS K7S5A PRO + Athlon XP 1600 Dont recognize it

Hi to all
I've the EliteGroup K7S5A PRO Motherboard and I've put my old processor Athlon XP 1600 (1400 or 133x10,5) in it,
And the mobo only detect 1050 Hz at start.

I've change the CPU Frecuency and the RAM Frecuency in Bios from 100/100 to 133/133 and the system crash, No start, the monitor don't start, no beeps, nothing. Then I must clear CMOS and all start again, but at 1050 MHz...

There is no jumpers on the board to configure it, only jp1 to clear cmos.

I've actualize the Bios to the last version and the problem continue.

My Dimm is PC133 128MB.

CPU Athlon XP 1600+
MB ECS K7S5A PRO (With last Bios)
Modem PCI
Aopen Geforce 2 256MX
HP 9100 CDRW
LG CD
Samsung 4GB Hard Disk
Many Fans...

Please, Any solution?
Thanks very much...

Try running one stick of ram. Are you using DDR?

Also, check the bios and disable on-board sound if you have a sound card. Do the same with on-board LAN if you aren't using it.

This will save you problems later.

BTW: Welcome to Techimo!

http://download.guru3d.com/sandra/

Download Sandra 2003 and see if it detects your CPU as a 1600 Athlon. I have the same bd. on my desktop but it recognizes my 1300 Duron OK( with standard bios )

YOU need to SET the CPU bus frequency correctly. If your system doesn't run right then, it's a RAM or power supply issue in the vast majority of cases.

You can set the DRam clock to 133 mhz in the PNP configuration page of the bios. That mobo will reset it to default of 100 mhz when you power down the computer and reboot.

If you really want to tweak that particular board, check out http://pub140.ezboard.com/bk7s5amotherboardforum[/URL]

No it won't. Only if it goes through a boot failure at 133 MHz it'll go back to 100. Else the setting, of course, sticks to what you last left it.

Thansk to all. I've test my RAM and it is...
I only change Dimm from 0 to 1 and all ok. I can change then the fsb to 133/133 and now is 1600+ (running at 1400 of course)
Thanks very much to all...
