cant run cs at 1600x1200??!?!

IM using a gf4 ti 4200, and when i set the mode for cs to run at 1600 by 1200 it doesnt switch to that size, it just gets bigger and half of the screen is off the monitor ;(

What do you mean it gets bigger?

are you sure your monitor supports that resolution?
It maybe the game is asking for a refresh rate at that resolution that the monitor doesn't support.

my monitor is a nec multyisync v721... can it?

If your desktop can support 1600x1200, then you should be able to play CS, so the monitor isn't the problem, if you can't, then that's the problem.

what resolution are you running your desktop at?

according to some digging i did, his monitor cannot handle 1600 x 1200. although it was pretty tedious for me to google through the roughly translated links. i could have had a mis read or bad information.

probably gonna need a 19" monitor at least, most 17" monitors don't big 'ol resolutions like 1600x1200
