What to do? (Windows Update)

Hey
I formated my computer today, and I installed Windows XP Professional on my HD. After everything is complete I want to enter Windows Update to download all the updates available and I get this:
Windows Update
What should I do? Its telling me that a newer version is available but it doesnt tell me where to download it, it doesnt even direct me to the site where it should be! What should I do? I really need and want to download all the patches but its seems that something is wrong. Thanks for the attention

dan

You need to click on the link to download a newer version of Internet Explorer. After getting the newer Explorer than you can run the Windows Update again.

I believe XP shipped with IE6 so don't think a newer version is the problem

The other day I got an error saying my OS wasn't valid although I was on Win2k

WindowsUpdate sucks lately, very unstable... sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

So so true Vass! Many of my friends has been calling me, since I am the "nerd" or techie of the group about that they have various problems with Windows Update. Well, I was lucky it was not that seriuos as what happens for some people. MS should fix all these problems since Windows Update is made to fix problems, but sometimes it just gives you more. Well, I am happy it worked at least

I intensely dislike WU. I use BigFix exclusively now for all my OS updates.

Interesting Socagal
I am going to check it out and tell my friends to see if they like it.
But I think its sad that they need to do another program so that you can download the updates securely and safe since MS is so bad. Well, no can do

Yeah.. I'm one who generally doesn't like to use 3rd party apps when the OS has it's own set of tools, but WU is one exception to that I only activate it when I'm ready to check for patches otherwise, it's not running.

I used to use BigFix but I found that it doesn't always have all the updates that WU has.
