i myself just got vb.net studio couple weeks ago and its great:d so i bet you'll have fun with it when u get it working.

i didnt have that problem when i installed vb.net, and i installed it 3 times, once on my new comp, 2 on my old because after the first installation i reformatted my computer. i have winxp home and winxp pro. only think i can suggest is do a windows update if you havent already, and try doing some system scans, a surface scan and standard scan for errors, some virus checking. find more about the error you encoutered if u can. did it say another other than error 2337?

I don't remember the error numbers I would get while installing. But frequently, I had to open the cd try, put the cd back in, and press retry. It would continue, and error later in the installation, at which time I would repeat the process.

maybe EvilRick is on to something, did you download it or is it a burnt copy? i wouldnt know if downloaded/burnt copies work because i have the original cd's. the cd set i got includes 5 disks:

1) Setup Disk
2) Prerequisites
3) MSDN Library 1
4) MSDN Library 2
5) MSDN Library 3

Althought you do not need to install the MSDN Library content, just the visual basic program and the prerequisites

What OS are you running? I saw you asking a question for XP apps running on Linux, do you have Linux on your pc? that may also be a factor
