Please help me : I cannot connect to some ftps

Having trouble connecting to some ftps
I am using a dlink di604 router
i cannot connect to some fts

when using passive mode
227 Entering Passive Mode (192,168,100,210,19,61)
Data Socket Error: Connection refused

without passive mode
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.
426 Data connection closed, transfer aborted.


If i connect my pc directly to the cable modem it connects very well

Ive enabled DNZ for one of my pcs
still no luck
also opened port 133,135,153 for ident

plz help me thx


p.s what ports am I suppose to open in TCP AND UDP

There is probably a better way, but if youre router has a logging function..perhaps you could just open all the ports temporarily and then connect to the ftps and then look at the log to see which ports were used.


Also, you do have port 21 opened yes? Isnt that the standard ftp port? Also port 20.

If you are the client, you don't have to forward anyports to connect to a FTP server. So go close them now before you get some new virus. You don't need to put it in a DMZ. You are just asking for trouble.

What FTP program are you using? Have you tried using your web browser instead as a test? If the site is "JoeFTP.com" then you type in "ftp://ftp.JoeFTP.com".

Does the web browser work? Maybe the sites you are trying to access have permissions set? You may not be able to access them.

trust me its something to do with my router
because if i connect my cable modem directly to my pc
it all works

turn off passive mode in the program you are using to connect to the ftp with

Two passive connections just won't work.
