Opera and Alt + S

I've been using Crazy Browser in XP for some time now and really like the interface but all the recent security exploits have left me wondering about alternatives. I've been giving Opera 7.20 beta4 a try but it has two features (or rather lacks two features) that I use a lot.

First is that Alt + S doesn't work to Send/Submit a message/thread here on the boards. Anyone know of a way to make this work? I use this all the time in several applications so not having this alone would be a real deal breaker.

Second is that middle-clicking on a link doesn't make it open in a new tab; all it does is give you scroll option and that's not really gell'n with me. This is a requirement any modern browser should have as well as far as I'm concerned. Given that Opera invented tabbed browsing I think I'm just missing something here.

I've looked through the Preferences and couldn't see anywhere to make my requested changes. Any hints? I'd love to be able to give this browser a fair try but without these two features it's useless to me.

Thanks.

PS. Do you guys say it like Opera the famous talk show host or like the show? Not that this really matters in Cyberspace, I'm just curious.

Like the show
I prefer opera over all I've tried, but am not familiar w/ those shortcuts. I'm using ie until I get everything reinstalled on here, makes you yearn for the tabs!

have u tried mouse gestures? very easy to open a link in a new tab using mousegestures.

Open link in new page:
Move mouse pointer to link and hold right button, move down

Open link in new background page:
Move mouse pointer to link and hold right button, move down then up

Help-> Mouse should tell u a lot about mouse gestures in case u havent looked at it yet

I'll take a look at the Mouse Gestures and see if they're for me.

Thanks for the suggestion NiShark.

Well, try upgrading to the new Opera 7.20b7 and see if any of the things you wanted were added.
