Kids Athlon MP vs XP? Difference???

which is better? The MP seems more expensive. One runs on a 333fsb, and the other on a duel 266? Which is newer and better for gaming?

Stick with the XP - it's available in higher frequencies with a higher FSB.

The MP specialty is that it's a processor for running dual processor comptuers. The trouble is Quake3 is the only game I know of that will run using two processors.

You'll get higher performance at a lower price with the Athlon XPs.

Well, the Athlon XP is just for normal desktop use. The Athlon MP is for if you want use 2 processors.

So the MP is the newer design? That was my impression. But is Athlon still sticking with the xp in the future? i want to be able to replace the 2.5 i buy with a better chip later. But maybe you are better to wait till next year to upgrade and just go with the newer dual processor systems?

Maybe get a whole new 64 bit system (available now). Not sure about the performance increase, but it's supposedly the new great thing.
