Kids Can't install D-Link Network Adapter?

I am trying to install a D-link DFE 530TX + into a Dell Dimensions 4100. I put the thing into the computer, turn it on, insert the diskette and it tries to install it. Then it tells me that it cant find the driver and it cancels and goes straight into windows 98SE. I had this installed before but I didn't install it. Now it won't install at all. Please Help?

go into the device manager, search for for the network adapter, right click on it, and select "update driver".

browse to the floppy.

see if that works.

Hey,

I'm not sure if your problem is exactly like mine was but I had a problem where my laptop wouldn't recognize my wireless card and it would have the yellow icon in the device manager. The only way I found to make it work is to send my card back to D-link. I had tried uninstall then reinstall and reloading the system, none of them worked.

i've used a lot of these cards, they typically install without difficulty

what exactly happened when you tried to install through update drivers in device manager, it didn't work is kind of vague, windows 98 will NOT search through subdirectories on the floppy which is where the driver you are looking for is located, you will have to manually locate the driver folder, win98 i think it was

the 530tx and the 530tx+ drivers are not interchangeable in case you downloaded your drivers
