PC won't boot.

I turned on my pc, it made the first usual noises for a couple of seconds then it loaded nothing, the screen showed nothing. What could be the problem. Thanks.

Did you get any beeps when you turned it on ???

one beep is normal for post if thats what you got. do you even see video during the post?(when the pc first starts to boot) check the for the obvious connections with your monitor to start with and post back what was changed if anything recently and what system you got there.

I just "repaired" a friend's PC that would start to load, beep, but then "nothing" happened. Symptoms as you describe.

Went over to take a look.... checked connections, reseated a few things, etc., ... just a bad video card (she had already ordered and received a new monitor on a co-workers advice).

Although she got a great flat screen 17" form Monitors Direct, she could have saved herself $150.

Cost for a new vid card (much better than her old one) was $40.

Try a different video card just to make sure the problem is what it seems.
