Old Gateway & New Vid Card ???

Got a guy that wants a new vid card for his old Gateway PII 450. It's got some funky ole Nvidia agp card in it now.

I was thinking 'bout one of those Gforce 5200's or a Radeon 9100 for a cheap upgrade. Anybody know of any compatiblity issues w/ these?

There shouldn't be any, but that card will only perform as fast as the CPU can send the data to it. What nVidia card is currently in it? A GeForce2 wouldn't even run at it's full potential in a system that slow, but if they plan on getting a new computer anytime, go for a faster card, but it won't work at it's full potential becuase of the CPU.

This actually turned out a no go. The original card is an old 3.3v TNT RIVA. So, it's a no go on this mobo.

The Radeon 9100 should support 3.3V signalling.
