A7N8X deluxe with Barton 2500 what do I need to change??

These are the specs

Chieftec server case with 450w foxcon
Asus A7N8X deluxe rev 2
AMD 2500+ Barton retail
(2) 256 xms corsair twinx 3200llpt
Maxtor 160gb hdd w/8mb
Lite-on 52x32x52 cdrw oem
Sony 1.44 floppy
USR 56k hardware modem 2977 oem
ATI saphire radeon 9500 np
(2) 80mm sunon fans for front bottom


Finally got everything running and win xp loaded with the other software. This is my first build. I noticed that it says the processor is at 1.09 ghz. What do I need to change in the bios to get it running where it should be?

Have a look in the BIOS and make sure that the FSB is set at 166MHz.

333 = 166x2 (DDR doubles the data rate of the FSB)

The REAL FSB is only 166

If it will support an overclock of that much, it will be a good surprise. If not, well, you're going to have stability problems. It should most likely be able to but who knows?

Shouldn't be a problem, he's got PC3200 (ddr400) RAM already. As long as he keeps the multiplier down (so that he is still running at 1.83ghz) he won't have stability issues with that mobo.

And hey, 2500+ on stock voltage are breaking 2200Mhz... so who knows, it may even be stable at 11x and 200Mhz FSB.
