Laptop or Desktop?
Hey
I am finding my way in this forum, since I am very new at it, and I am just loving the Polls Thats why im doing one right now. Its about if you prefer having a Laptop or a Desktop? What do you have? I believe that most people use desktops, and the gamers (well most) do also use/prefer desktops. Right now Laptops are still more expensive than desktops, and now in the market desktops are still more popular than laptops. I really dont think that Laptops are just for the people that travel and need to bring their computer, although they were made for it, there are people that uses laptops at home, and never travel. I have one friend that just loves laptops and he never travels! He has this big desk almost empty with his small laptop! But he just loves it! Well, vote for your favorite and tell us what desktop/laptop u normally/most use.

Desktop for sure.
Lappys are only good as a "portable" device.
The break very easily
Are impossible for the average Joe to repair
Have low operation time limits on battery
Heat up miserably
And are inherently slow with the 4200 rpm hard drives
not to mention more expensive and easier to steal..
I use a homebuilt machine, usually a Athlon XP 1700 or Duron 1.0g, right now on a 1700 Celeron
My lappy is a HP with AMD XP 1400+ processor
I have a mobile USB microscope I plan to photograph small flowers & bugs

I like desktops more, but laptops are nice.
My Desktop is an Xp2100, geforce2ti, 512mb ddr, and i use it mostly for gaming.
My laptop, 2.66ghz P4, 512mbddr, radeon 7500, i mostly use to play quake 3 while watching tv downstairs. Also, now since we just got a wireless card, i am hoping to use it more outside of the house.

I have three desktops, and 1 lappy, the lappy cost as much as all the desktops
Either way the lappy is nice for somethings,it's tough to take the desktop outside to relax in the shade, not impossible.
Still desktops all the way for me,the wife can keep the lappy

Lol at this "And are inherently slow with the 4200 rpm hard drives". My new lappy from http://pctorque.com has dual 60gb 7200 rpm RAIDED. God only knows when it will arrive though... damn delays.

I voted laptop, but it really depends on what you'll use it for. If you don't forsee needing your PC to travel with you, get a desktop. If you need a mobile unit and a desktop but can't afford both, get the laptop.

I voted desktop, but you really need an option for both.
both is the only true answer, by not giving that option , it is like asking us to come swim in your pool, and then tying our hands and feet before you'd let us in |

Laptops have their place.
On my desk just isn't one of them. I far prefer using a desktop, as you're kind of limited with what you can do with a laptop.

Well, sorry guys for not including a "Both" option!
I know some people use both and actually like both the same, they give them the same care, and they treat them the same way.
