Dr Symantec

Hello everyone!

I have a customer who says he bought "Dr *Symantec US." Says he installed it but doesn't see anything. I've looked at his comp and I'm not finding it. I haven't seen the box for the software, he email me this limited info. I've checked symantec and didn't find it. If anyone has any information on this, it would be appreciated.

AFAIK there is not a product specicially called. Dr. Symantec or Dr. *Symantec US".

More infomation is needed. System specs and also the exact software name he installed.

However symantec does make alot of software, Firewalls, Anti virus programs. More popularly called Norton.

See if you can get more info and maybe someone can help you out.

Hi - I am in the UK and bought Dr Symantec via Digital Rivinterna online in July 2003 - I too have not seen any evidence apart from my Visa account that I have paid for it - I can't find anything on the computer apart from a strange site trying to constantly trying to download stuff - Files\Hotbar\bin\4.3.20\ Hblnst.exe trying to access but I keep blocking 'cause I'm not sure if it is the Symantec firewall I was ordering - or a rogue - CAN ANYONE HELP TO IDENTIFY??

Thanks - especially I am a novice with computers but just want to protect the system and it cost me a few bucks!

carolynR hotbar is something called spyware. Send compaines info on your surfing habit. Hence why its trying to access your internet. i suggest you download spybot, update to the latest pattern files and scan your computer
