Gaming Barton 2600+!?

Yep, you read that right, there WILL be a Barton 2600+. It'll operate at 2083 MHz, not bad right? Consider it'll run about 200 MHz faster than the 2500+ and that's only 100 PR points not some outrageous number that AMD keeps pulling out of the air. And it'll run on the 166 MHz FSB. It doesn't seem too expensive at $140. Looks like the multiplier will be 12.5x? Correct me if I'm wrong please

It can't run at that speed ... that's what the Tbred B 2600+ runs at...unless AMD realized their ratings on the Bartons are a little high.

Its gotta be a tbred and he thought it was barton. They wouldnt buff the whole rating on one chip like that. No way. It say 512k L2 cache. If not its tbred all the way.

Its a 333fsb Tbred. Two versions -one for OEM is actually 333fsb BUT not 512l2 cache. This guy's site screwed up big time. He saw the fsb and assumed it was a real barton.....Look at the pic of core-its too small for the extra cache. my core is square and is Barton -its due to the cache. This one is JUST like my Tbred-A 2200+ die. Pic and discription dont match.

PROOF

AHA! There is one Barton version DUE to come out but the fsb is within barton Pr-which makes sense.. But that guy is wrong on his site thats no barton there.... Its a tbred all the way. This is true 2600+ ratings barton and tbred plus new Thorton.
http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/cpu/dis...531155656.html

Athlon XP 2600+: Thoroughbred, 256KB L2, 2133MHz, 266MHz FSB;
Athlon XP 2600+: Thoroughbred/Thorton, 256KB L2, 2083MHz, 333MHz FSB;
Athlon XP 2600+: Barton, 512KB L2, 1917MHz, 333MHz FSB.

Its all there. Id email that dude-dont buy it under false description.

I already e-mailed the guy He told me that athlonxp.com has one being reviewed, so whenever the review is up, we'll see, I'm sure it's a mistake on the MHz, but everything else is right.

Ya its this one,
"Athlon XP 2600+: Barton, 512KB L2, 1917MHz, 333MHz FSB."

And then the thorton. But the point was the mhz are right in line with the barton PR. THats where this guy was off. Selling a 2600+ barton at 2600+ tbred speeds would be a 3000+!!!! THats all I was getting at. I found the 2600+ barton at that link I posted already. So I didnt doubt you that it existed-just the mhz the guy quoted were way too high. Sorry for the confusion.
