Kids disable integrated wireless?

I am considering buying a new Toshiba Satellite A20 or A25that comes with integrated wireless. How do I disable the integrated wireless 802.11b PCI card in the computer in order to use the wireless 802.11g components that I have? (Netgear WRG614 router & WG511 PC card) Do I disable it in the device manager or what? Has anyone tried this?

Thanks for any responses!

you can disable it in the device manager, or if you look on the back of the laptop there should be a panel that says pci. I'm pretty sure its a mini pci card.

open that panel up there should be two wires that pop right off the card. slide the card out. no more

i don't know if they make wireless built into the motherboard. but the simple device manager step will work just as well.

You might look at the BIOS as well. Since it's probably a mini-pci card it may be a setting in the BIOS. Might not but it's worth a look. Other than that you can remove the card or just disable in windows device manager.

Go to network settings and disable the device. I have my wired on board and my 1394 connections disabled with my 811b card enabled. Shouldn't have any problems.

Yep, go to device manager and disable the device.
