don't ya just love it when...

don't ya just love it when someone bashes something without even trying it. i've come across numerously bashed AMD, Apple computers and Linux because of "lack of compatibility" but strangely none of them had tried any of the hardware. It just really gets me when i'm told "OMG why did you buy a mac? They aren't compatible???///"

well what i think they're trying to say is that they won't run windows software (good call!). Which is fair enough, but usually there's a Mac-only or an open source alternative.

You don't have to buy something and use it to know some of it's capabilities...they're always WELL documented.

You're just sore because you like Macs

I heard a guy that runs a small computer store say this today
"You don't want ADM (spelled like he said it!) processor, it'll get hot and burn up. I'd go with a celeron if I were you"

I really had to bite my tongue. I wanted to say "Anything you build will probably burn up"
btw, I talked the guy into buying a computer from me w/ a 2000xp -- For $250 less than the other guy wanted

I get the same sort of thing all the time, being a die-hard Matrox user. nVidiots and ATI addicts are constantantly whipping it out with their "mine is bigger than yours cause I can get xxxx 3Dmarks", when they have never actually witnessed the visual beauty of gigacolor and ultra-sharp DACs, or triplehead surround gaming glory that a real quality card offers.

Good gosh yes!

Check any "intel vs. amd" thread on this forum and people are still giving this "intel because it's more stable and compatable."

ROFL!

More compatable? With what?

More stable? I'm not even going to begin to touch that one.
