is it dual channel??

how can i tell if i have dual channel memory or if my system is utilizing it? I'm running an A7N8X (non-dlx), 2 x crucial 512 pc2700 DDR.

I originally thought dual channel meant that you had more than one stick of RAM on your board. please clear up my misconceptions if I have any.

yes it supports Dual Channel memory and you need two sticks in the slots.

I have the X motherboard and there was an update that came out to show in the bios when you boot up that you are running in dual channel mode. Check it out for the non X model

Just having two sticks on a regular board doesn't mean there are dual channels ... before all slots were on the same channel (we didn't even really call it a channel because there was just one)

all the bios update does is make it say while boot up that you are running in dual mode. read the manual to see where you need to put the ram sticks into, to enable dual channel ram

as for testing it, i honestly dont know how you would do that
