Outlook XP using Word as email editor

Here at work most of the users use Word as the editor for their Outlook, the problem is that the combination of using the two together is horrible. When composing a new message it is a dice roll if Word will crap out. I have found that pasting text, changing font/ size, creating hyperlinks causes it to crap out more often, and of course I get that box " word has encountered a serious error and must shut down" or something like that and it says that word is recovering the document but when you go to the drafts folder it is there but cannot be opened. I am tried of getting reamed about this!! I have installed SP2 for office and there was a patch for Word I installed still no joy. I have changed most users not to use word as the editor, but there are some execs/engineers here that insist on using word for HTML, formatting and the spellcheck features. Does anyone have any ideas what else I can do to try fix this.

TIA

Thats strange... I've always used word as my email editor and i've never had any problems at all...

Perhaps there is a problem with the word/outlook installations?

I would probaly go along with that if it was just a limited number of pc's, but the majority of them act like this. No matter whether it is an OEM load or I loaded office using a MS volume cd.

Thanks though for the input
