Installing for me a noob

ok i download mandrake 9's 3 iso files and i burned them using nero as a image cd but nothing happens when i boot up. Do i need to get a boot disk for it and if so cna you tell me where to dl it.

"nothing happens". Does this mean it boiots into another OS? Or it says OS not found?

Might be you need to allow the CD-ROM drive to be bootable in the BIOS. Not sure, but only drake CD-1 ISO is bootable, I think.

CD-rom is the first boot option

And sorry for not communicating but it boots windows xp at start-up.

Look at the CDs in explorer:Are they just one big file or are they divided into directories?If the former,you need to re-create the CDs from the iso images you DL'd.Also run the md5 checksums on the iso images.

ok ive made two types of cds one with the iso split into files and one with just a iso file

-well if someone could tell what option for burning teh cd in nero is that would help thx

can someone plz help me im so confused. I had RH8 on my comp before but i dont know what i did to get it on i dont remember but i want to try linux again with rh9 so some plz help me.

in nero, cancel the wizard, go to File > Burn Image > change type from .nrg to all files(?) then select your .iso file

if I recall correctly you should now be prompted to "burn"
