Reassigned drive letters...can't boot

Really stupid on my part, but did it anyway...

My boot drive wasn't C, and instead was F. Using Partition Magic on WinXP, I reassigned the drive letters, even though a popup said "Doing this may cause your system to not boot" or something very similar. Well sure enough, I can't boot off that drive. I believe right after the big WinXP loading screen, a Partition Magic screen comes up saying something along the lines of "Batch file cannot be run. Make sure your System32 folder is not corrupt or other word."

Anything I can do to change the letters?

I was just scanning forums, and i am not sure i have an answer but here goes.....

Most partition software comes with a bootable version that can run on its own version of dos. I am not familiar with the software you are using. Perhaps in your case you might need to get a bootable partition software or....

if you boot with a win 98 system disk and get into the c directory, you may be able to jumpstart windows and get into partition magic that way. I am not familiar enough with win xp to know if that is possible....

good luck!!

You're right. Partition Magic has a DOS boot disk option, which I used. If I remember correctly, I had to format the drive, then delete the partition so that the entire drive was unallocated space. Then, I believe, is when I was ok and did a fresh install of XP.
