Unstable Computer!

From the start my computer was rock solid. I mean you could not crash it. And one day after a lan( I swaped ram and got it back latter) when I tried to benchmark my computer it got about half way then it shut down. Now when ever I stress the system it freezes then shuts off. I have the newest drivers for my vid card. The temps on my cpu are just fine at 122.

Specs.

Thermaltake Volcano 11+(Full RPM)
ASUS A7N8X-Deluxe Rev. 2.0
WindowsXP Pro Sp1

2x WD 80Gb 7200Rpm
Samsung 120Gb 7200Rpm
Samsung CD-RW-DVE-ROM Combo
PowerColor ATI Radion 9700 NP

I'd recheck how well that ram is seated after you swapped it. Maybe it's not quite solid in the dimm slot? I had similar problems when I added a second 256MB and reseating the ram chip fixed it, no problems since.

Power magic 500Watt. I just swapted it for my old 350. I have the 350(dont know the brand) In my moms computer. But would not having the ram seated right cause unsbality only when you tax it out?

Don't put it in a different slot...put it in the first one. Check your manual to be sure which one that is.

What is it exactly that you're doing when the PC crashes... Playing a game? surfing the net? etc etc? If its gaming, then it could be the video card over heating, if its just random instability, it's probably a memory issue, you could try using more relaxed timings, or increasing the vcore... This is assuming of course that the actual memory modules aren't bad.

If you pull out that one memory module, do you still get crashes? If so, maybe one or more of the connectors was damaged on the RAM chip itself. Carefully examine them. Look for "burns" of "gaps."

I tryed both slots. It really only crashes when I am benchmarking about half way through 2001se adn almost done with 2003. I am using one stick. I have even tried my moms ram(ghetto). I will try upping the V core voltage.
