Lost Thermal Tape...any other options?

Hey I just got a Volcano 11+ and I don't remeber where I put the thermal tape...just saw it last night...anyways is there any thing i can use instead or should I go without it and just let the probe sit under the CPU??

Arctic Silver 3 - Do NOT go without thermal compound/pads/tape on the core.

It is for speed control. It takes the temp and the hotter the cpu the faster it spins. I have the same fan but I use the manual speed control.

Why is it impossible...I need to work on it....wouldn't show picture or anything last time I had it under there...ithink that I just need to play with it...Thermal tape tapes the probe to the underside of the CPU

I have a Tt Volcano 9... I think he means he lost the thermal tape that is used to attach the probe to the underside of the CPU.

Good question. I prefer the under CPU method myself as it's quieter for a Volcano 9 but not sure if the tape is critical or not. I used mine before I could lose it, heh.
