Need sound card advice

I have a turtle beach santa cruz. While I couldn't be happier about it in windows, the linux support is lacking quite a bit. I've only been able to get 2 speaker output and there are other problems I've encountered. I'm looking into getting a sound card that has better linux support. I'm not sure what to get though. I was thinking of getting the Audigy. Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you checked out http://www.alsa-project.org ? That's the place to do research for anything sound-related for Linux. Go there and look what cards have alsa-drivers. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the link Agent-Embryo. After a fixing a weird problem that only seems to affect rh9, I compiled and installed the newest alsa drivers. What a difference in sound! Only problem is I still only have 2 speaker out... I'm still looking for a way to get 4 speaker.

Glad I could help. Not sure how to get the 4 speakers working tho. I'll give this thread a *bump* and see if anyone has any suggestions.

I like M-Audio too, I own the M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 and I love it.
