Memory Choice

I'm placing my 1st order with Newegg tomorrow. I'm buying the ABIT IS7, Intel-865PE motherboard, with the 800 fsb. I'm also getting the Intel P4 2.4CGhz.

This setup supports 400 DDR in single or dual mode. This has set me back some, so I'll only be buying 512 of DDR3200 memory. I've decided on Corsair. I'll also be stuck with Windows 98SE for a couple of months, before I purchase XP, so anything over the 512, won't be as important until I upgrade to XP. I really want to run this in dual mode, so I'm very tempted to buy 2 sticks of 256 so I can do this. Would I be better off if I went with 1 stick of 512 instead? It would also be $10 less if I went with the 1 stick. It will probably be another monthor more before I could buy another 512 stick. Any advice?

not really - if you buy 2x256 now you can then get another 2x256 or 2x512 when you need more ram as p4 boards have 4 slots

edit: as for shipping my last newegg order shipped the next day (order made at arround 4pm) and took 3 days to arrive on fedex super saver shipping

Thanks cbuddha42. I did some more research, and you just confirmed it. I'm going with the 2x256. The ABIT board has 4 slots. I'm going with Corsair's PC3200. It's past midnight here, so I guess I can place my order now.
