hey recently i got my comp to work and i decided to see wat the frontside bus was on i change it to 166 and the comp shut down now when it turns on nothing pops up on the screen but all the fans spin and everything seems fine(but obviuosly it isnt). tryed switching 3dcards but no change could it be i fryed my cpu or mobo
specs:
amd 2400+
radeon9600 non pro
k7n2g mobo
512 mgb pc2700 ram
300 wat power supply
40 gig hd
RESET THE BIOS!!!!!!!
Look for the jumper to reset it. If you can't find it just remove the CR2032 battery and unplug the system from the wall for a while.
what was the fsb set to before you changed it? what was wrong with the computer before you got it working? if you dont know then what finally made it work?
the fronstide bus was 133 before it i already tried switching the jumper but i havent tryed taken out the battery ia m gonna try that now . the reason it didnt work before is i had a bad hard drive so ig ot a new one
Check your manual for a BIOS Reset Jumper, there is one on that motherboard. Reset it with the Power OFF and then put the jumper back to normal position and power it on and it should work.
I can see no way that you damaged your mobo or cpu.
hey i just found my manual and it turns out i was setting the wrong jumper. i switched the one i was supposed to use and the comp works fine thx for all the help guys
