overclocking T-bred 2400+ on Asus a7n8x deluxe mobo

I've got an ASUS A7N8X-deluxe mobo, T-bred 2400+ oc'd to 2.3 gig, and pc3200 RAM. The FSB is running at 200mhz with DDR giving me a 400mhz bus. I'm at 1.825 V-core to achieve the oc. Anything lower and it starts crashing on me. What seems weird to me is that when it crashes due to a lower V-core, the Asus POST reporter says "system failed memory test". When I up the cpu V-core the prob goes away. I would have thought that it would fail due to cpu overclocking, not a memory prob. I'm running the mem in sync, by the way. Any insights on why this is? Or is this just a quirk of the asus board?

Maybe because the on-die L1 128kb and L2 256kb caches are still ram???

BTW, aside from boosting vCore, I also always boost my vDIMM by +0.2 or +0.3v to 2.7 or 2.8 just beacuse it seems to improve memopry stability, especially when OCing.
