P4 boot up problem

Pentium 4
2.4 ghz
Intel mobo w/ onboard video, audio and lan
60 gig hard drive
etc etc etc

Out of the clear blue, i'm having a boot up problem. Normally, the first screen I see is the XP logo that shows that the program is loading. It then boots up right away and with 30 sec's is ready.

Yesterday, when I turned it on, I got the Intel P4 logo screen, but it did boot up after a couple of minutes.

Any ideas what could cause this change????????????

Yes it does.

A couple of days ago, I installed Norton Anti Virus and thought maybe there was some sort of compatibility issuue so I uninstalled it, but the problem is still there.
