ASRock K7VM2 USB controller conflict

system

Asrock K7vm2 Mainboard
2200+XP AMD CPU
256 DDR 133 memory
S3 savage4 AGP graphics card
Creative soundblaster live value
Ess pci data/fax Mode M
operating system XP

I was confident to build myself a pc after several repairs to my old one.I must admitt to been a learner when it comes to many aspects an try not to post for help unless im really stuck

My problem is with the motherboard i have bought Asrock K7vm2. Using the hardware above I installed XP am everything seem to configure within device manager except the USB CONTROLLER,I have seeminly 2 usb contollers in my manager
when i open the tree to one USB controler all seems well with devices
However the 2nd USB controller is listed too in manager under UNKOWN DEVICE usb controller an a small yellow explaination mark next to it.

I have with my motherbaord a Disc which contains patches an utilities one called USB 2.0 which when i install on my system causes it to fail at booting with a flashing cursor top left for 20 seconds before moving to centre of me screen, after this my pc will only start in save mode an i have no option to format, brutal i know but is all i know

I have visited Asrock site to make sure this USB 2.O is for Xp users an even downloaded the lastest version from the site with same result failing to boot after instalation. only is safe mode.
I have in my Bios a setting for onboard usb controler an it is enabled
this is for now the only imformation i have ,can anyone fimilar to this board or knowalge to my problem care to help me ,,im learning all the time any help will be most welcome

the onboard usb controller is there if you have usb ports on the front of your case. So you might as well disable it, then xp probably won't give you that problem

You need to install the drivers for the USB 2.0 controller unit. When the ones from ASRock are not working, try Microsoft's.

I do have USB ports on the front of my tower,an have rigged them up to the correct connectors on motherboard. i also have 4 USB ports at rear of tower

IM not running any USB 1.0 or 2.0 as im not wanting to fail to boot using the USB2.0 form the motherboard site.

ok i have run an installed the VIa USb 2.0 an it has removed the unknown device USB controller am back to having one USb controller in me device manager
However in the drop down everything seems ok exept for a small yellow explaination mark next to the
VIa usb2.1 enanched host controller

any more thoughts thanks for help so far

So, what's the complaint that Windows states in this device's properties?
