Kids How to turn load MPU401 on Biostar mobo?

I have a Biostar M7VKQ (on-board everything, video, sound, lan & usb). I want to configure the gameport for midi input. The board uses default VIA AC97 audio. I need to load MPU401 for my MIDI instrument. When I try to just add MPU401 under Device Manager, I just get a yellow (!) exclamation. Of course WinME says the device is working/configured properly but I can't load my MIDI device and there is obviously something wrong if the device manager has the exclamation. How can I get MPU401 loaded to this board? Do I need to remove VIA AC97 and replace with SB AWE or SB Pro? Is this possible with this board? If anyone with info please let me know. edyohome@comcast.net or edyohome@hotmail.com

thx
EZ

Outdoors RE: MPU-401 midi input on Biostar board

To answer my own dayum question (since yall were sooooo helpful ). If you have a Biostar M7VKQ and need to load MPU-401 legacy midi...you CAN'T do it in the operating system by "Adding Hardware" under Windows. All you get is conflicts. You'll need to go into BIOS at start up under Integrated Peripherals and enable Legacy Audio, enable Soundblaster and enable MPU-401. You can then connect your music keyboard to the gameport and run your synth app.
