Just received it today.

Way cheaper than Ipod.Sounds great and hold all my collection.I would have gotten Ipod if I had an Apple. But, I heard to many negitives against them running with XP.I didn't want to have to jump through loops to get it to work so I went with this.I just love technology and to think I use to think 8-track was something.

20GB
$249
Holds either 5000 mp3's or 8000 wma's.mp3 is 128 kbps and wma is 64 kbps. Both are cd quality. Both sounded the same ,so I went with wma.Ordered directly from Creative.

How can an MP3 be considered "cd quality" when the compression associated removes extremely important information relative to quality sound?

Don't know about that.Don't really care one way or another.Just know it sounds good to me.Then again I'm not ultra picky about things like this.If it sounds like the original cd,then I'm happy and it does. Then again,I'm kinda deaf ,so I'm not the best at judging these things. Is it live or is it Memorex?

RE: the highs and lows are removed?
The same thing can be said for WMA files.
