What should I upgrade first?

Hello all,

I currently have a AMD Athlon 1200 processor ( I think it'sa thunderbird or something like that), 512 megs of ram ( I don't think it's DDR), and I have a GeForce 2 GTS Pro 64 mg card. What should I upgrade first in order to improve game performace ( graphics wise and stuff). I will eventually upgrade it all but in the meantime, what should I upgrade first?

What video card should I go to? I am thinking of the Radeon 9500? 135 bucks or something like that. And then what kind of RAM should I get?

Graphics first. Gaming relies more on that then on processor. What is your motherboard? Upgrading to DDR from SDRAM will not give you a huge gain in performance.

Yup, get a decent Vid card. The Radeon 9500 or the GeForce 4200 will give you about the same performance for a nominal investment.

The Radeon 9500 performs better and has DX 9 support unlike the Ti4200.

save up and get the 128meg radeon 9800 pro.

i've had bad experiences with nvidia my whole life.

or get the radeon 9600, i have that in my other computer and its great. get about 60fps rtcw 6x AA and 16x AF at 1280x1024 with full graphics and hacked stencil shadows.
