Sygate? Freezing? Why!!?!!?

I have ZoneAlarm and like Sygate better, but the problem is, I installed Sygate Pro and then couple days later it started to freezing up my comp, and my comp is brand new and want everything to be smoothe from here on in, restarting improperly and errors should not be happening 3-4 weeks after a new computer buy, know what I mean? So I just didn't say anything and kept using ZoneAlarm, no freezing!...then I thought, meh, we'll try Sygate again, starts freezing again! Any ideas why? I haven't tried regular Sygate, just Sygate Pro, is there a BIG difference? Anyway, that's not cool because I find Sygate much more to my liking, is it worth trying to get Sygate to work or is ZoneAlarm better. If they are the same, Sygate is my choice

Forgot to mention one more thing, I wasn't running both firewall programs at the same time, lol so i don't think that would be the problem.

Any help would be fantastic,
FireWolf

did you make sure zonealarm's service was shut off?

You may have closed the GUI but the service itself may still be running.

I also prefer sygate by far. Zonealarm makes me feel like an imbecile using lego's for a firewall (much like XP does)

Did you completely uninstall zonealarm when using sygate?

No i did not, I'll try that right now! and i feel the same way you do about the imbecile and stuff. I don't know though, i was reading some more firewall threads and zonealarm is popping up, and i have to admit my opinion is changing, oh well, we'll see if sygate is still my favourite if i uninstall zonealarm

thanks for the help!

Just because something doesn't have the "standard" interface doesn't mean it's not good. Especially in Zonealarm's case. It is the highest quality firewall I've ever used.
