Need Help With Using IDE 3

I have the setup listed in my sig. My questions is how do I install a regular hard drive, not raid, on IDE 3? What steps would I take? The manuel doesn't show how to. I currently have a 120gb hd that I want to install on this channel, but it is not reconize by windows. The drive is working though case I hear & feel it running. Thanks in advance for helping, because it is really needed.

IDE3???, DO you have a SATA PCI controller or something???

Without raid the setup should be following:
Two ide channels, both capable of having a master and slave disk.

And your setup should be following:
IDE0: HD1 as master, HD2 as slave
IDE1: HD3 as master

Perhaps you need to jumper the drives?

Without raid it will not work (I don't know how sata works)
Regular ide can only hold 4 devices.

My mobo has ide1, ide2, ide 3 and 2 sata channels. Only one drive one be used on each of them.

The drive is getting power but its not being seen by windows? is it being seen in the bios at all? if not try setting the secondary to manual.

Let's see, msi says there are 2 ide channels and a sata channel.

Obviusly IDE0 and IDE1 can hold 2 devices per channel.

Yes, and what the cables do is very well explained in the manual.

IDE0 and IDE1 are regular ide
IDE3 is raid and 2 sata controllers near it.
