LG CD writer and easy cd creator

Hey man

I've just installed an LG 52x24x52(HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8520B) cdwriter and it isn't recognised by easy cd creator.
I took this writer out of my dad's computer and I had the same problem in his.
He ended up using a different program(CD mate).
I've got millenium and XP installed but it doesn't work with either, I've also tried the updated easy cd creator software and the drive update software.
I would prefer to use easy cd creator.
I tried nero on my dad's computer and that didn't work either.

Any suggestions?

I friend of mine has one and it works fine with nero and easycd. They have a firmware update for it you can try. direct link . Although, his worked without the firmware update.

If you haven't, try it on the MB's secondary ide with no other drives attached. Make sure the jumper is master and not cable select. If it doesn't work, I'd get them to swap it out.
