Jeez, I really think I'm in the wrong place. I know so little about computers, but I know every tech at Gateway by name. Have ME and it took a year to get it running correctly. Don't you know it crashed completely and needed a new motherboard/hard drive? It was too far gone to even save any files, etc.; however, am back and running (although not perfect) and am trying to hook up my scanner. It says to check the BIOS. What the heck are they? Please help. It's connected and installed correctly...I think!!

Whenever you boot up your computer your bios come on, some longer than others. To access them on gateway computers simply press F2 at the first blackscreen that appears.

Thanks Jeremy, but what do I do after I hit F2? It says to check your BIOS, but I have no idea what they should be. If I press F2, will I be able to go back to my desktop with no problem or will I just be creating more problems? TIA
