Skip the bios?

Is there anyway I can make my computer boot straight to operating system? It currently loads Phoenix AwardBIOS and to get to OS I have to hit F1, well when I turn on my comp then go upstairs to make food and come back it gets really annoying to have to wait for it to boot.

Why do you have to hit F1?

You can't "skip" BIOS as these are the basic instructions that allow your hardware to communicate with the OS in the first place.

Unless you are getting an error during POST, you should not have to hit F1 to go through all of POST.

Also, if your POST is taking a real long time, there are options within BIOS to boot quicker, such as skipping the memory test or doing a fast memory test, etc.

Fixed it, thanks. Had the current bios set to Halt On No ERROR. Changed it to skip the halt.
