Registry First Aid... error?

Well I just downloaded Registry First Aid program and shocked to find I had over 600 registry errors... anyways after it was done searching the registry, it would search the drives and everytime it ends searching or I press stop then I would get this error..

Access Violation at address 00000001. Read of address 00000001.

Why is it doing that?

What is the best registry cleaner out there? Any recommendations? I just saw this one on this site...
