Winxp wireless networks

i hate this option, its horrible.

my setup

orinoco classic card. 802.11B

i turned it off from starting in the services but now the program the orinoco card uses wont connect to anything until i re-enable the winxp wireless connection manager. am i missing another option to disable this junk?

it just wont go away

not sure what you are trying to do here GZ. i have the same card, what program are you using?

it sounds like you are disabling the wireless network in network connections (are you running windows xp?) and that disables that network completely, but when you use "the program" you want it to be able to enable that wireless connection. is that right?

im using winxp (hence the topic ) and its thier built in wireless networks configuration

i go to services.msc and scroll down to the bottom and disable it and the orinoco card program wont take over. it just sits there like winxp killed the ability to use its own program to search for wireless networks.

orinoco site sucks for downloading any kind of upgrade driver cause well you know if you own the card what it looks like

Jason

Edited* okay weird its working now, but the little program that says your not connected to the network (the bars are not lighting up) is there an update for this program in winxp?
