My brother has a "Generic" computer running WinXP Home. His computer was working fine until he decided to add another hard drive and RAM. After he added both, and booted into Windows, now whenever he hits a key on the keyboard the whole computer locks up. The keyboard works fine and he checked all pins and made sure it was in the correct port..etc..He tried three different keyboard all the same results.
I told him to remove everything that he had installed and to change it back to the way it was. He did that, but the computer is still freezing in Windows when he presses a key. It also does it in Safe Mode. If he hits the key during the "Startup" he can get into the BIOS.
The mouse works fine with no problems, but once he uses a key on the keyboard everything freezes up?
take the keyboard out, and restart ur computer without a keyboard, then turn ur computer off, and put the keyboard back in, and turn it on in safe mode, and then uninstall the drivers then reinstall them.
